Boric acid is highly effective as a flame retardant for paper

First, look at the video below. A lighter is ignited by applying soufa 16% concentration aqueous solution on newspaper and drying it.

Newspaper is paper and burns well.
However, applying soufa and drying it can easily impart flame retardancy.
soufa is refined with sodium polyborate and water only, and boric acid is the main flame retardant.
Although boric acid has long been known to be effective as a flame retardant, it has been used less often because of its poor solubility in water.

Therefore, we succeeded in creating a highly concentrated aqueous solution by combining boric acid with a special method using a unique manufacturing method. This makes it possible to apply to a variety of materials, especially for paper-based materials.

Newspaper usually ignites and spreads quickly, but due to the flame retardant effect of soufa, it does not spread or ignite just by carbonizing.
This shows that the flame retardant effect on paper is high.

Until now, inorganic phosphorus-based and nitrogen-containing compounds, aluminum hydroxide and calcium carbonate have been used as flame retardants for paper.
Isn’t the day when a new genre of boric acid flame retardants will be added here?

soufa is a pure boric acid aqueous solution purified by a special method. Soufa’s flame-retardant components dissolved in water at the nano level adhere to the cellulose of the pulp and settle on the material.
It has good compatibility with cellulosic materials, so any material containing cellulose, not just paper, can be made flame-retardant.
